Silhouette Geraldine Battles is the wife of Thomas L. Battles, Jr., the 33rd Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.  As Kappas Immediate Past First Lady, Silhouette Battles served as the spokesperson for the Global Infant Safe Sleep Center and its partnership with Kappa and the Silhouettes.  The Global Infant Safe Sleep (GISS) Center, is a national organization created to helped communities reduce infant sleep-related deaths and promote healthy infants and lifestyles.  Silhouette Battles has traveled the country on behalf of the Kappa Silhouettes and the GISS speaking to parents, grandparents, caregivers, and even teenagers about the importance of safe sleep practices.  Battles effectively engaged audiences, taking every opportunity to change the paradigm to increase awareness on the topic that plagues African-American communities.  Silhouette Battles taught classes, gave away cribs and other educational resources, so every child had an opportunity to survive and thrive.
